Bidding to find a cure for MS

Bidding to find a cure for MS (From Bournemouth Echo):
Fantastic! What a brilliant, generous and courageous decision: doing whatever one is able to do to help raise funds for MS Research!
Helen Thomas thought when she was diagnosed last January:

“I wanted to do something to raise money. Other people were doing sponsored walks and runs. I kept telling myself ‘once I’m better I’ll do that’, but then I thought ‘what if I don’t get better?’…

Chloe Watters is fundraising for MS Research Training and Education (MS Research)

Chloe Watters is fundraising for MS Research Training and Education (MS Research)…

My good (some might say crazy) deed for 2010 is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. As someone who is not a big fan of exercise this is a massive physical challenge as believe me it requires a lot of training! I am dedicating a great deal of time to train for this event. I have joined 3 hill walking clubs and pretty much every weekend of 2010 is being spent struggling up as many Corbetts and Munros as possible.

Chloe went further than that…she got her Dad to shave…
The BIG climb starts on 17/11/2010…

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain on Earth. It stands at an impressive 19,341 feet. With any mountain of this height there is the risk of altitude sickness which if left untreated can prove to be fatal.

George Kafatos wants to look like Hulk Hogan…

George Kafatos
is very close to looking like Hulk Hogan the Super Destroyer
Please help him, encourage him and tease him amicably!

I am in the process of growing Hulk’s trademark facial hair, the “Hogan” handlebar moustache. Up until the 29th November I will have a full-blown beard, but should I reach my target of £500, I will style my beard to take on Hulk’s infamous look! For the entire final day in November I will sport this stunning look, all for the amusement of my friends and colleagues, and of course for MS Research. (Note from George – “I didn’t want to do it but my friends made me!”)

For those of you asking about any photos, I can assure you that many cameras will be in the office on the 30th November ready for capturing the end result! 🙂

I think that the montage of all the pictures would be a real treat!

Can George’s determination hold?
